Ovarian Cyst

Ovarian cysts can vary in size and type. Most are benign and result from the normal ovulation process. However, some cysts may become large, painful, or interfere with the ovary’s function. Symptoms, when present, can include abdominal discomfort, bloating, irregular periods, or pelvic pain.

Some cysts may require medical attention, especially if they grow, rupture, or twist (a condition called ovarian torsion). Diagnosis is typically done via pelvic ultrasound. Treatment depends on the cyst’s size, type, and the patient’s symptoms. In some cases, hormonal medications or surgical removal may be necessary to prevent complications.
