Detailed imaging, blood work, and anesthesia evaluations are done to prepare for surgery. The patient is educated on what to expect and how to recover.
Both hip joints are accessed one at a time during a single surgical session. Damaged bone and cartilage are removed and replaced with prosthetic implants.
After surgery, patients are moved to recovery where vitals and pain levels are closely monitored. Preventive antibiotics and blood thinners may be given.
Physiotherapy begins within a day or two, focusing on walking, strength-building, and improving hip function. Most patients are discharged in 4–6 days and continue outpatient rehab.
